“You must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.”Gusteau

Some things within your jobs can change your life. While I was working at Netflix, I spoke to a member that I could never forget. I didn’t realize one member would become a great friend.

This member was a man named Pradeep. He called in one day to cancel his membership so to me I thought it was just another cancellation call at that moment. He told me that the reason he was canceling his membership was because his wife had just passed away and the only reason he had Netflix was because he loved watching movies with her and now felt he had no reason to keep Netflix. After listening to the relationship he had with his wife it reminded me of the first scene in the movie UP by Pixar (which he never saw). His wife had just passed away and now he was left alone but on a new journey in his life. We had a long conversation and towards the end I suggested for him to write a book dedicated to her. He said he actually had just started on one and hopes to publish it one day. I was so moved by him and his life that I asked if we can stay in touch. I wanted to be there for him in his time of need. He replied and said he would greatly like that.
Pradeep and I have exchanged emails and many phone calls since then. We became great friends though we still have not met in person. I even purchased the DVD Up by Pixar and mailed it to him so he can finally watch it. Fast forwarding years later after we originally spoke, he has now finally published his book and i’m so proud of Pradeep for completing it! Ill link the book below but I’m really glad that I was the one to take his call that day. It all seems so random at times but I truly feel that the universe places people specifically in your life. It’s up to you to just bring a little passion in what we do at work. Forget about watching the clock all day and just go the extra mile for either your project or your members. You might create some new wonderful relationships.
In the end, It’s all about what we accomplish and achieve in our life. Today you may be stuck at a 9 to 5 job that you might not enjoy but just bring a bit of passion to it..
